Other duties may be assigned.
Confers with Grounds Manager and maintenance staff members to plan activities for maintenance of growing, planting and other landscaping needs on the hotel property.
Manages the greenhouse and cares for it on a regular basis.
Inspects greenhouse, hothouses, potting sheds, and other areas to determine need for repair and to observe activities of workers.
Participates with Grounds Manager for inventory of propagation and growing equipment and supplies, and orders additional materials as needed.
Able to work with other departments on any needs they might need.
Supervises the day-to-day operations of Hotel Grounds staff.
Keeps equipment maintained and operating at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety.
Ensures compliance with all Hotel Grounds departmental policies, standards and procedures.
Maintains accurate logs and records as required.
Is able to perform all associate functions if necessary.
Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
Helps establish priorities for total hotel grounds maintenance needs.
Ensures all associates have the proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
Helps train associates in safety procedures and supervises their ability to execute departmental and hotel emergency procedures.
Assists in training other department associates in fire protection, safety and evacuation procedures.
Understands and complies with loss prevention policies and procedures.
Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
Empowers associates to provide excellent customer service.
Establishes guidelines so associates understand expectations and parameters.
Ensures associates receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.
Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position and monitors progress.
Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates and ensures associates do the same within the team.
Manages associate progressive discipline procedures for areas of responsibility.
Ensures hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently.
Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
Ensures on-going communication is happening in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives and communicates expectations, recognizes performance and produces desired business results.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
